Our Story

For over a decade, restaurant owners and caterers across Maryland have been doing their part to alleviate hunger in their communities. However, their efforts were often hindered by challenges such as limited resources, staffing constraints, and unpredictable demand. Despite their best intentions, the results were irregular, with some initiatives falling short of their goals.

 

Recognizing the need for a more sustainable and scalable solution, Food 4 Maryland was born out of necessity. Many organizations dedicated to combating food insecurity recognized the potential to expand their reach and impact by collaborating with local restaurants and caterers. By pooling resources and expertise, we aimed to increase volume while simultaneously reducing expenses, thereby serving more people in need through Food 4 Maryland’s reach and infrastructure.
